Before leaving the States, I promised friends and family that I would blog to keep everyone updated on me and my adventures. I've now been here almost three weeks (!), and am just now getting around to this blog thing. Oops!
Time has really flown. It feels like I've only been here about a week, but I also have no recollection of leaving Texas at the end of June. That seems like ages ago. Things are going really, really well. I am working for a program that brings high school students to Oxford for an Oxford/college experience. They live in dorms, attend classes (only 1 or 2 per day, it's just a taste of college), and have some freedom to explore Oxford. I am in charge of all things academic for both the teachers and the students. Kellen is in charge of arranging other fun activities for them when they are not in class: football (soccer) matches, Casino Night, Spa Night, dances, visits to local museums, bicycle tours of London, tickets to opening night of the new Harry Potter movie...and lots of other fun stuff. I honestly have been so busy that I took my camera out for the first time a few days ago and managed to get some nice shots of Lady Margaret Hall. (Click on any picture to see a larger version.)
When you walk in the front gate at Lady Margaret Hall, this is what you see. The lawn is beautiful and green, and not unlike my beloved Alma Mater, you are not allowed to walk on the grass in this area. That right is reserved solely for students who have just graduated.
This is the back of the building shown in the first picture. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and so well-cared for. A few more garden shots:

I like this shrub (tree?) because it looks like it's slightly out of focus.
Then you cross a charming bridge to find the tennis courts, football (soccer) fields, and punting house.

Trees that might have scoliosis.
I have a few pictures from recent trips to Blenheim Palace and Bath, but those will have to wait for next time. Today is my day off, so I am off to explore Oxford. Even though it's stereotypical British weather out today (cold, rainy), hopefully I will have some stories and nice pictures to share.
